Islam Traders is a hardware and household shop in Bangladesh. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect when you use our website or place an order, why we collect it, and what we do with it. If anything here is unclear, call us — the number is on the contact page.
When you place an order, we collect the name, phone number, delivery address, district, area (thana) and any delivery note you give us, together with the items you ordered. An email address is optional on an order. We need this to check your order, call you to confirm it, and hand it to a courier.
When you create an account, we also keep your email address, a password (stored scrambled, never as plain text), your preferred language, your saved address and your wishlist.
When you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive the name and email address that provider shares with us. We never receive your password for those services.
On your device, your cart and your wishlist are kept in your own browser, not on our servers, until you place an order or sign in. We set one cookie to keep you signed in and another to remember whether you chose Bangla or English.
We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking, we do not use your contact details for marketing, and we do not sell your information to anyone.
In this version of the site we do not verify phone numbers or email addresses. Nothing is sent to either. Because every order is tied to a phone number, whoever creates an account with a phone number can see the orders already placed with that number — their items, totals and delivery addresses.
That is why you should create your account with your own number. Once a number belongs to an account, another account cannot take it. You can change the number on your account yourself at most once every 30 days, or call us and an admin can change it for you.
We never sell your personal information.
Order and customer records are business records, so we keep them. Internal sign-in records are kept for 90 days, notification logs for 12 months, and an image deleted from a product for 30 days. Error reports sent to our monitoring service have phone numbers and addresses removed before they are stored.
The site runs over HTTPS. Access to customer information is limited to our staff and protected by sign-in, permissions and, for administrators, two-factor authentication. Passwords are stored scrambled. We also keep an internal record of staff actions, such as a change to an order, for accountability. We try to hold no more information than the shop actually needs.
You can see and change your name, email, phone number and address from your account page. To ask a question about your information, or to have something corrected, call us using the number on the contact page. Because order records are also our business and tax records, we may need to keep them even after an account is closed.
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
